This spacious home features two queen beds, one full bed, and twin bunk beds—perfect for families or groups. Lovingly owned by our family for over 30 years, this home is filled with thoughtful touches and personal memories that reflect our summers spent in Normandy Beach— our favorite place in the world. We hope your stay is just as memorable and special.

Our Vision

At 530ByTheBay, our vision is to offer more than just a stay—we aim to create a timeless Jersey Shore experience. Nestled along a peaceful lagoon just steps from the ocean, our home blends modern comfort with the nostalgic charm of summers past. From sunrise paddles to sunset strolls, we invite you to slow down, soak in the salty breeze, and make memories that echo the best of beach days—simple, joyful, and unforgettable.

About the Hosts

Thank you so much for choosing to stay at our beach house! We’re a father-daughter team—Tom and Lauren—who split our time between beautiful Normandy Beach and sunny Tampa, Florida. Tom has owned this home since 1994, and it’s been the heart of our family’s summer memories ever since. Over the years, our block has become more than just a neighborhood—it’s a close-knit community of friends who feel like family.

We love everything this area has to offer, from relaxing days on the deck or beach to exploring the many incredible restaurants and, of course, the classic Jersey Shore boardwalk. Long beach walks, bike rides to local spots, and morning strolls along the ocean are part of the rhythm of life here—and catching the beach at low tide is pure magic.

Lauren is available throughout your stay to answer any questions or help with anything you may need. The best way to reach her is by text message during the day, and she’ll do her best to ensure your stay is as comfortable and memorable as possible. We’re so glad you’re here, and truly hope you enjoy Normandy Beach as much as we do!

The Dockside Deck

Stretching across the back of the home, the grey-stained wood deck flows from the family room to the kitchen’s sliding glass doors. Framed by crisp white vinyl railings, it features a neutral 6-person dining table with a turquoise umbrella, stoneware planters, two lounge chairs, and grey teak rocking chairs—perfect for relaxing by the water.

A Weber grill sits at the top of the deck, along with two staircases: one leads to the lagoon dock via whimsical turtle stepping stones; the other to a private outdoor shower tucked beside the house. A tall teal planter with seagrass and a container of Swan Food add a playful, natural touch.

Tidepool Tranquility

The bathrooms are full of beachy charm—driftwood wind chimes, nautical glass bottles, coastal art, and a crumb cake–scented candle nodding to Mueller’s Bakery in Bay Head. Wicker baskets hold champagne-colored towels and Sea Mineral–themed soaps, while Native’s sandalwood and coastal breeze products, plus Coastal Wind & Lavender candles, add a spa-like feel.

Artwork ranges from lifeguard stands and rocky surf to gold-accented ocean scenes. Thoughtful touches like a silver boat of hand towels, a beach path photo above the light switch, and a rope-lettered sign reminds you to simply… relax.

The Fun Stuff

Beach Access

Normandy Beach offers private beach access just a short walk from the house. We provide 8 beach badges for your stay, which are required for entry during lifeguard hours. Please be sure to bring the badges with you each day and return them before checkout, as replacements are costly. Enjoy the clean, quiet shoreline and friendly beach community—its one of our favorite parts of Normandy!

Crabbing and Fishing

In the garage, you’ll find a crab trap, kids’ nets, and bamboo-style fishing poles that are easy and fun for kids to use. For bait, stop by Charlie’s Bait n’ Tackle (485 NJ-35, Normandy Beach). They carry bunker for the crab trap and spearing for the poles. If anyone gets a jellyfish sting, there’s a spray bottle with a water and vinegar mix by the sliding door for quick relief. Enjoy crabbing, fishing, and soaking up the best of the bay!

Kids Room
  • Stamped postcards, beach-themed coloring books, craft supplies, and paintable clam shells are here for some coastal creativity.

  • Spot the sea glass lamp—filled with treasures we’ve collected over the years. Leave one behind to mark the memories you made here.

  • Find the gem bottle with treasures from the “Gem Lady” at 208 6th Ave. Colorful gems are tucked in the pebbles for kids to find.

  • Feeling adventurous? The Kaboodles box on the dresser has flashlights ready for your moonlit crab-spotting mission on the beach.

Summer Swan Visitors

Each summer, two beautiful swans return to visit us at the dock—with a new group of fuzzy babies in tow. It’s been a joy watching their little ones grow each season! You’ll find a container of swan food on the deck if you’d like to feed them. They may hiss, but don’t worry—they’re just protecting their young. Please enjoy from a respectful distance to help us keep this special tradition going.
